The Mesa
Verde Virtual Companion is an augmented reality (AR) visitor interpretation
mobile application developed to enhance visitor engagement and learning
experiences at Mesa Verde National Park. Protecting user privacy is a core
principle of this app’s design.
Information We Collect
The Mesa
Verde Virtual Companion does not collect, store, transmit, or share any
personal or non-personal user data.
All app
functionality operates entirely on the user’s device.
Permissions Used and Their
Purpose
Camera Access
The app
requests access to the device’s camera solely to enable augmented reality
experiences. The live camera feed is used as a visual backdrop for placing and
viewing virtual content within the physical environment.
Camera
access is required only while actively using AR features.
Data Sharing
The Mesa
Verde Virtual Companion does not share any data with third parties,
including service providers, advertisers, analytics platforms, or government
agencies.
Children’s Privacy
The app
does not knowingly collect data from children under the age of 13. Because no
data is collected at all, there is no risk of storing or sharing children’s
personal information.
Security
Because
the app does not collect or store user data, there is no user data at risk of
breach, misuse, or unauthorized access.
Changes to This Privacy
Policy
This
privacy policy may be updated if app functionality changes in the future. Any
